Oral Pathology

An important part of the oral and maxillofacial surgery practice is the diagnosis of pathology in the maxillofacial region.  Early detection and treatment of oral lesions greatly improve the patient’s prognosis.  The oral cavity is one of the body’s most important warning systems.  Do not ignore suspicious lumps or sores.  If necessary, biopsies and other tests can be performed to diagnose problems and develop an appropriate treatment plan.  Lesions may be managed medically and/or surgically.
